Our mission
TTRPG Stack is an independent directory of tabletop RPG software. It is not owned by, invested in, or affiliated with any tool listed on this site. Every review is written without financial input from the tools we cover.
Most "best of" results in this space are written by tool makers who rank their own product first. This site exists to be a neutral comparison layer — the place where a GM researching their options can read an honest account of what each tool does well and, critically, where it falls short.
How we evaluate
Pricing & value
We document every pricing tier — including what the free tier actually covers and where paywalls interrupt play.
Ease of setup
Time and technical skill to go from zero to a working session matters, especially for groups new to online play.
Feature depth
We assess the tool against its category peers: lighting and automation for VTTs, export quality for map makers, and so on.
Community & content
Active communities extend a tool's value — more tutorials, modules, asset packs, and answers when things break.
Honesty about limitations
Every listing includes at least two cons. No tool earns a page without an honest assessment of its weaknesses.
